Course Description:
This course covers database administration issues and distributed database concepts. Topics include database administrator (DBA) goals and functions, backup and recovery, standards and procedures, training, and database security and performance evaluation. Upon completion, students should be able to produce DBA functions' documentation.

Course Goals:
  1. To obtain the education and hands-on skill to Administer an RDBMS, Relational Database Management System, help students well prepare and familiar with Oracle and Oracle certification SQL (1Z0-031) exam.
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion, students will be able to demonstrate (through completion of classwork and assignments):
  • An understanding of the Oracle Architecture
  • An understanding of Oracle Database Structures
  • An understanding of Managing Tablespace and Datafiles
  • An understanding of Oracle Storage Structures
  • An understanding of Managing Oracle Database Objects, Users, Roles
  • The education and hands-on skill to pass Oracle Certification Exam 1Z0-031

Exams 60 30% of each
Labs/Projects 30 About 10 homework assignments
Attendance 10 Attendance is required
